Things To Do in the Barrie and Surrounding Areas This Weekend

Friday Night Flick

Family movie night anyone? Come out this Friday from 6:30 pm- 8:55 pm to the Painswick Branch Public Library in Barrie and enjoy this week’s Friday Flick,  Abominable (1hr 37m)

Festival of Lights

Get the family and join the Town of Penetanguishene this Friday at 5:30 PM for a Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Penetanguishene Town Dock. After the Tree Lighting, you are invited to attend the Penetanguishene Museum grounds for a festive evening of activities, ending at 8 PM.

barrie Farmers Market 

Check out the Barrie Farmers Market every Saturday between 8AM - 12PM. The market features a range of vendors and products including fresh produce, meat, baked goods, honey, maple syrup and more. If you don't have time to shop the market there is also an option to place an order online for pick-up.

Cookstown Antique Market 

Come out this Friday-Sunday between the hours of 10 AM-5:30 PM to the Cookstown Antique Market and enjoy their twin ten foot tall real Christmas trees decorated in vintage and new ornaments, all for sale!!! Saff are having fun this season as well by getting dressed for the occasion, all in Victorian style. There will be lights, music, and plenty of sweet and savoury treats.  Santa is coming to visit this Sunday between the hours of 12 & 4!

A Very Merry Market

Shop local vendors this Saturday at the East Bayfield Community Centre from 10 AM- 3 PM for a Very Merry Market. Kids can have their photos taken with Santa and create fun crafts at the supervised craft area while parents shop the vendors.  Arrive early for some amazing swag bags and sign up with each vendor for your chance to win the door prize!

The Innisfil Holiday Market

Are you looking for a one-stop holiday shopping experience? Come to the Innisfil Holiday Market this Saturday from 11 AM-5 PM at the Stroud Community Center and shop vendors from Simcoe County and GTA.

Orillia Fairgrounds Christmas Farmers' Market

Come out this Saturday from 8 AM- 1PM to the Orillia Christmas Farmers’ Market and get your holiday shopping done right this year by locally hand-made goods from farmers and artisans across the region!

Spice Holiday 'Christmas' Market 2022

Come out this Saturday to the Maclaren Art Centre in Barrie for the annual Christmas Shopping event of the year! 25% more artisans than last year from all over Simcoe County. Admission is $5 for adults and kids are free! 

Enjoy visits from Santa while you sip on some warm hot cocoa and shop the vendors. 

Shop the North Pole

Come out this Sunday, December 4th from 10 AM- 2PM to the Lion’s Gate Banquet Centre and shop local Small Business while the kids enjoy fun activities and FREE photos with Santa!! In lieu of charging an admission or fee for Santa photos, kindly bring a small item to be donated to the Food Bank or unwrapped gift for the toy drive.

Drysdale's Tree Farm

Come on out to Drysdale’s Tree Farm between November 19-December 18th; every Saturday & Sunday from 10am-4pm to pick the perfect Christmas Tree while enjoying the jingle bells on the horses, face painting, live carolling, magic shows, bonfire, wagon rides and so much more!

Magic of Lights

Looking for a family fun experience? Get in your vehicle and drive-through the dazzling holiday light experience featuring all of your favourite holiday scenes, music and characters at the Springwater Provincial Park, Magic of Lights. Running until January 1st, 2023 from 5pm-10pm.

Friday Harbour Christmas Market

From now until December 23rd, Friday Harbour continues the tradition with their Christmas Market! Experience a European-style market featuring a 40-foot tree, twinkling lights, carolers and cozy up in their warm lounges, and take pictures with Santa and his elves. Unwrapped toy donations for Innisfil’s Christmas for Kids Toy Drive will be accepted.
